2. After every working day - if not every day, then at least once a week - oil your scissors.

3. Sharpen your haircutting shears to keep them in good shape.

4. Never immerse your scissors in chemicals, as this might lead to corrosion.

5. Always keep scissors secure in your scissor case while not in use or after finishing using them to avoid any harm in the case of a fall.

So, here's an expert tip: stick to the steps!

Keeping Your Hair Shears in Shape

Although we discussed how to maintain your hair cutting scissors, we need to take a step further by discussing how to clean your hair cutting scissors. Why? Because it's essential to keep them clean and maintain them properly to enjoy using them for long. Though you are not forced to listen to us when we emphasize how crucial it is, we still strongly advise you to do so. When you don't properly maintain your hair shears, they may erode or produce rust from chemicals or residue, reducing their use. Wet hair can also harm your shears. Therefore, WIPE THEM DOWN!!!

You'll need to keep them sharp to avoid rust and corrosion. Why? Again, because it will reduce their lives. Shears that are dull or blunt might cause them to wear out faster since they have to work more to cut the hair. Not only that, it will create a big problem when the shears tug on your client’s hair due to scissors snagging. This will make their hair more dull, blunt, and even chipped. So it will be a pretty disheartening situation for the client.

Hope we have helped you understand the importance of maintaining your shears and using proper cleaning procedures for your hair scissors!

How Do You Clean Your Hair Scissors?

We've included a simple three-step method below for individuals who have never been taught how to clean their hair cutting scissors properly.

Step1:To remove any extra hair or residue, wipe scissors with a clean and dry towel or cleaning cloth supplied.

Step 2: Open them and oil both sides of the pivot point (the center screw region on the blade) once the scissors are clean.

Step 3: Check the tension of the scissors to make sure they aren't too loose from the fresh oil.

Isn't it simple?

Side note: the simplest method to check the tension of your scissors is to follow these instructions as well!

Step 1: Hold your scissors up with the tip pointed to the roof; you'll need to keep them in this position for the rest of the process.

Step 2: Lift one of the handles with one hand to open the blade of the shears to around 90 degrees.

Step 3: Let go of the top handle and let it close on its own. If the correct tension is in play, it should be close to a 45-degree angle (or halfway); if it doesn't, the pressure is too loose, and you'll need to tighten it.

Step 4: To change the tension, use the tension key that should be included in your scissor case. Repeat steps 1 through 3 using the key to modify it by 2 - 3 clicks.

While we are confident that you can provide all of the necessary care and clean for your hair cutting instruments, Depending on how often you use your shears, you should sharpen them for at least 6 to 12 months once. Also, always remember to store your hair scissors in their protective case when not in use to avoid any damage!

To Sum It Up!

That's all there is to it, fam! Cleaning your scissors can help them live longer and maintain their cutting performance up to par. In this example, up to cuts!
